The defining quality of Andrea Massimo Grassi is to achieve a greater knowledge and understanding of the musical text as well as the thoughts by their author.

The main fruit of this activity have been brought together in the Urtext edition of the Quintet for clarinet and strings by Brahms, published in 2000 by Henle Verlag of Munich, and in the volume ‘Fräulein Klarinette’. La genesi e il testo delle opere per clarinetto di J. Brahms [‘Fräulein Klarinette’. The genesis and the text of J. Brahms’s clarinet works] published in 2006 by ETS (Pisa), mentioned both in Italy and abroad, as reference publications.
